Drag and drop don’t work in WordPress Widgets
Published by Dev team of TagALLY | Filed under our stories
We meet the problem when we custom our blog sidebar through widgets drag-drop function and the error message shows ” jQuery(”#pagescontrol”). Draggable is not a function”. We search it in internet but haven’t any gains.
We see the source code of the widgets page and find the jqurey.js and interface.js files, we guessed the problem should be in the two js files . Then we download the newest interface. js file from http://interface.eyecon.ro and replace old one with it. Refresh widgets page and all thing work. Congratulations!
These are two files we are using at present :
Interface.js (77.6 KB, 239 hits)
Jquery.js (22.2 KB, 205 hits)

Sorry guy, but this DID NOT solve the problem. I am stil getting 2 dradded error messages from interface.js (string being properly ended or something) and the widget.php JQuery …Draggable function error message. I still cannot get to drag any of the widgets into the site bars.
It seems that nobody is debugging their own code lately. What a shame.

Finally, found the answer. After a suggestion from one of the Wordpress forum folks, I deleted both wp-admin and wp-include directories and reloaded the site with refreshed files (this time used the linix version of the zip file). I never had any issues with uploading files, so I somehow have a problem believing in ftp transfer corruption. Anyway, drag and drop work for me now.

I think this is only windows problem becaus this problem starting after windows vista updating, something changed in windows protection system and then java isn’t working properly and blocking drag and drop function.
altho i test early version wordpress 2.3.2 (it was working last time)and same problem like 2.3.3, so this is only windows problems, i have Vista and if someon has on XP same problem, please write

From 2.2 to 2.5, the problem still exist. On XP. The 2.5 version worked for a few minutes, but when I modify the database, went back and found the widgets are not movable.
However, they did provide workaround by allowing users to remove and add the widgets one by one in the latest version.
